What is ZO Skin Health's "Getting Skin Ready" or GSR?

Hannah Wilson

If you have been looking at ZO Skin Health products and the ZO principles, you may be wondering what Getting Skin Ready means? GSR: Getting Skin Ready is an essential ZO Principle for both daily maintenance and preparing the skin for therapeutic medical treatment. This technique ensures that the skin functions properly, tolerating daily exposure and activities and preventing skin conditions. Adopting GSR Getting Skin Ready will prevent and control acne, rosacea, shaving bumps, skin pigmentation issues, enlarges pores and rough and damaged skin texture.

Getting skin ready by ZO Skin Health three steps

The important features of this method are to cleanse, scrub and control dry or oily skin. It can eliminate skin sensitivity, restore hydration, enhance skin health and minimise complications. In this article, we will go into detail about what the at-home skincare routine involves and what products ZO offers to assist you in your routine.

The three steps of GSR: Getting Skin Ready

ZO Skin Health skincare

ZO GSR (Getting Skin Ready) is the way to achieve healthy skin. Three easy steps made up of “Cleanse”, “Exfoliate” and “Tone/Oil Control” to ensure that your skin looks it’s best.

Step 1: Cleansing

Cleansing is the important first step for all regimes, as it will remove surface debris, daily impurities and makeup on the skin. We recommend this step twice a day, morning and night. Cleansing the skin will expose fresh, healthy skin cells as it increases cell turnover and will remove the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.

If you tend to wear makeup during the day, it might be worth double cleansing in the evening. The same applies in the summer months if you find you are applying SPF throughout the day. This is to make sure all makeup residue and SPF is removed from your pores after each day.

Step 2: Scrub/Exfoliate

This is the second step to help with the removal of dead skin cells which will then help with further product penetration. Exfoliating your skin 2-3 times a week will boost your circulation to target fresh, new skin cells. This step will not only make your skin feel very smooth but your skin will look healthy and radiant too!

Step 3: Tone/Oil-Control

Toning is the final step in GSR. This step will control oil/sebum and enhance product penetration into the skin. This is the best step to help fight breakouts, ageing and keeping the skin looking healthy. Those of you already using this product will know that it leaves your skin feeling very fresh and zingy!
